The General Workers’ Confederation of France on Tuesday confirmed its call to a national mobilization on January 18 to protest against unemployment, which has reached its worst level over the past 12 years.
Official statistics from November show that 29,900 people were laid off in France, affecting more than 2.84 million workers in France, the highest level since 1999.
